Thomas the Cat R.I.P.
Thomas was born under my bed on Halloween 2006. The Vet told us the little black and white kitten was a boy so we called him Thomas (or Toms for short)...except he wasn't a boy, she was a girl.
One day Thomas looked like he had a poorly leg and the Vet said it was broken. We were told she could be put to sleep but we didn't want to do that so she had an operation and then only had 3 legs.
She was famous on our street and everyone stopped to stroke her because she was so loving and liked everyone.
We found out Thomas was a girl when she had kittens of her own. She was a very good mum and took care of all her babies.
The trouble with Thomas though, was that she wasn't afraid of anything - she would sit in the road and cars would have to stop, and sometimes get out and move her. She would also run out, dashing across the road, when she heard us coming back in our car, and even we had to get out and make sure we didn't run her over!
I used to leave the car window open so she could sleep in the car and be safe.
This morning our neighbour found her in the road.
She was 4 and had a very happy, carefree life and was so affectionate and wonderful. She would let the kids do anything around her and didn't even mind the baby pulling her ears. She was a beautiful cat and we will really miss her.
Love You Toms xxx
