Envelope Emergency? Origami Saves the Day!

How to make an envelope without scissors or glue...I needed an envelope for school dinner money and had none, plus it frustrates me that so many nice, white envelopes are wasted in this way, so I got onto YouTube and looked for a way to make a secure envelope out of just folding paper. Origami style envelopes were everywhere but this was the best I found...easy to follow and I only had to pause and rewind once :-) Use any old scraps of waste paper, old letters or school artwork (come on, you can't save it ALL), junk mail, waste gift wrap...save it all and recycle it! For extra security if you are sending coins, you could always use a bit of sticky tape...or if you want to be really fancy/frugal melt an old wax crayon over the seal like in the old days! Think that would make a nice birthday envelope. Anyway, here is the video...

Since the kids and I got our allotment we've been finding lots of things to do with kids gardening and such like. A personal favourite of mine - despite the animation being a bit freaky - is Dirt Girl World from CBeebies. This is my favourite song! "Get Grubby!"
