DirtgirlworldDirtgirlworld seems to be one of those kids tv shows that divides parents, I say 'parents' because I haven't met a kid who has a problem with it but you will find plenty of discussion in parenting forums about the animation being disturbing and freaky.
I love Grubby and Ken's madly conceived stunts. I love the artwork, the music, the whole 'grow your own' and eco-friendly theme...but mostly I love the rocking chickens, who are also the part-time fire brigade - they have captured the antics and funny side of our real-life chooks perfectly. Dirt Girl MerchandiseStrangely, but rather refreshingly, there is a surprising lack of merchandise. The show's eco-friendly theme lends itself so easily to so many kids gardening products, craft activities, books etc. that I'm left thinking they are just confidently biding their time before launching their range...then again encouraging mass consumerism might not be appropriate for such a programme! However, I'd personally love to have the kids getting involved on the allotment with their DGW branded notebooks and wellies!Having said that, I do know that the creators and BBC (who have the UK rights) want any Dirt Girl products to be responsible and sustainable, in keeping with the show's eco-friendly theme.
